A. Personal statement

Guohui Nie is the current director of Shenzhen Second People’s Hospital (First Affiliated Hospital of Shenzhen University, Shenzen, China). He has conducted basic and clinical research in otolaryngology for over 35 years, having both extensive theoretical knowledge of the subject and proficient clinical surgery skills. His primary scientific interests include basic and clinical research on hearing and balance problems, and on the early diagnosis and treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

Nie has participated in over 20 projects at the national, provincial and municipal level, and has won The Provincial Scientific Research Achievement Prize three times. He also authored three books, and published more than 40 high-quality academic papers in international journals including Cell Metabolism, Nature Communications and PNAS,?as both first author and corresponding author.
