A. Personal statement

GuoXian Zhu is a Professor, Chief Physician, and the Director of the Vascular Surgery Department of Shenzhen Second People’s Hospital. His academic and research fields include?the diagnosis and treatment of diseases such as varicosity, arteriovenous thrombosis, thoracic and abdominal aortic dissection, and lower limb arteriosclerosis obliterans. Dr. Zhu has received grants of over 300,000 from the Shenzhen Science and Technology Bureau and the Shenzhen Health and Family Planning Committee, and has published many high-quality academic papers in international journals such as Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine as a corresponding author. Dr. Zhu also serves as Vice Chairman of the Vascular Surgery branches of the Guangdong Medical Association and the Guangdong Medical Doctor Association, and as the Vice Chairman of the Vascular Surgery committees of the Guangdong Clinical Medical Association and the Guangdong Health Management Association. He is also Chairman of the Vascular Surgery branch of the Shenzhen Medical Doctor Association, leader of the Vascular Surgery Group of the Surgical Committee of Shenzhen Medical Association, and Chairman of the Vascular Surgery Committee of Shenzhen Health Management Association. In addition, Dr. Zhu is a current member of the editorial board of Chinese Journal of Vascular Surgery?(Electronic Edition).

Dr. Zhu has twice been awarded the Shenzhen municipal-level title of “Outstanding Member of Communist Party”, in both 2008 and in 2009. He was also voted as “Advanced Worker of Shenzhen Second People’s Hospital” in 2004, 2008, 2012, 2015 and 2019. He hosted four prefecture-level scientific projects as the project leader, written three books, published 34 papers as first author in national and provincial journals, and participated in writing an expert consensus.
