A. Personal statement

Duxun Tan, is Doctoral Supervisor, Clinical Professor, and Chief Physician. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Emergency Physicians Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctors Association, a member of the 20th council of the Guangdong Provincial Medical Association, a standing committee member of the Guangdong Provincial Emergency Trauma Professional Committee, Head of the Trauma First Aid Group, and Chairman of the Pre-emergency Medical Professional Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Primary Health Center. He is knowledgeable in the treatment of critical, intensive care unit, medical emergency, trauma, poisoning, and coagulation disease, and the treatment of common and frequently occurring diseases in emergency medicine. In 1975, he was involved in flood relief in Henan; in 1978, he was involved in earthquake relief in Tangshan; in 1979, he was involved in the war of self-defence and counterattack against Vietnam; in 2008, he was involved in earthquake relief in Wenchuan; in 2009, he was involved in earthquake relief in Ludian Yunnan; in 2010, he was involved in flood relief in Jingjiang. During his service in the army, he won the second prize three times and third prize 11 times. He has written articles in more than 110 core national journals and SCI articles, and has won two second prizes and 20 third prizes in Military Science and Technology. In 2018, he was awarded the honorary "China Health Emergency Medicine Outstanding Contribution Award". In 2019, he was awarded a "Significant Contribution Award" by the Chinese Association of Research Hospitals. He has been appointed as a Senior Evaluation Expert by the Guangdong Provincial Health Department and Health Commission six times. He has been appointed as Evaluation Expert in national grade hospitals seven times, and has conducted evaluations in grade hospitals in 21 prefecture-level cities in Guangdong. He has served successively as the Director of the Outpatient Department, the Director of Intensive Care Medicine, the Director of the Emergency Department in the Air Force Hospital of the Southern Theater Command, and as Director of the Department of Acute and Critical Care Medicine of The Third Affiliated Hospitals of Southern Medical University, The Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Southern Medical University, and the Seventh Affiliated Hospitals of Southern Medical University.
