On May 17th, we were delighted to hold the "Clinical Medicine & Achievement Transformation" and the 4th Postdoctoral Forum of Shenzhen University Medical School (SZUMS) at the SZU Lihu Campus. Xu Xingzhi (Executive Director of the SZUMS), Huang Peng (Deputy Director of SZUMS), Liu Wen (Dean of the School of Pharmacy at Xiamen University), Cai Lintao (Director of the Institute of Medicine at the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences), Chen Zejia (Officer of the Human Resources Department of SZU), and tutors representing all secondary colleges of the SZU Department of Medicine were in attendance.

Huang Peng chaired the opening ceremony, where he highlighted the importance of postdocs in the talent team. He emphasized their need to be tenacious in their pursuit of excellence in academic research. He concluded that building top-tier universities necessitates a talent team of the highest caliber.

The invited experts, Liu Wen and Cai Lintao, presented excellent scholarly studies on basic medicine, clinical transformation, and crossover with industry, respectively. Specifically, Liu Wen introduced his research background, scientific achievements, and experience in clinical transformation, while Cai Lintao provided a clear and comprehensive discussion of the recent developments in using nanomaterials for robotics applications.

This event brought together some 150 postdocs, who also presented their most recent research findings and engaged in in-depth conversations and exchanges with academics and students from various fields. Overall, there were 59 poster presentations and 10 oral presentations. Following professional assessment and grading, three exceptional oral presentations and five poster presentations were chosen. Concurrently, there was a ceremony to mark the replacement of the Department of Medicine's Council of Postdoctoral Fellowship. Following stringent interviews and elections, the following individuals were named as the third council members: Zou Xiaodong, Dong Shanshan, Fan Miaozhuang, Andrews Boakye, Zhang Ruoxin, Liang Yuxuan and Zhang Tingting.

At the closing ceremony, Xu Xingzhi gave all the postdocs and students who had participated, his sincere best wishes. He highlighted how the Postdoctoral Academic Exchange Conference is an excellent venue for scholarly exchange and a valuable opportunity for learning. He urged the postdocs to continue to promote their scientific research accomplishments, actively participate in the academic exchanges, and to work together to continue to innovate scientific research and postdoctoral academic exchanges.
